Local 975 donates hand sanitizer to front line workers

Skid of hand sanizers

In early April, Unifor Local 975 partnered with Ottawa based distillery Top Shelf to donate much-needed hand sanitizer to two Ottawa based medical facilities, CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) and Canadian Blood Services.

When COVID-19 began to escalate here in Canada, and the demand for various PPE products exceeded the supply, Top Shelf quickly answered the call and shifted production from spirits to hand sanitizer. They manufacture with Canadian ingredients from their distillery in Perth, Ontario.

Dear Mr. Carter,

Thank you, UNIFOR Local 975, for your kind and generous donation. We are humbled that you partnered with Enbridge Gas Inc. and Top Shelf Distillers which resulted in a donation of 200 sanitizers for CHEO.

Your decision to make a gift during this difficult time demonstrates the community spirit that built CHEO and continues to sustain those on the front lines of healthcare. Because the healthcare needs of patients cannot wait while we tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, CHEO is turning to donors like you to help us deliver the best care possible for the children, youth and families who rely on us. Your donation is so very important and so deeply appreciated.

You are as much a part of the CHEO team as the people within the walls of the hospital so please be proud of your role in helping every child in our care to live their best life. We hope that you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy in the days, weeks, and months ahead. We will get through this together.

With sincere thanks,

Jacqueline Belsito
